Craftsman is our Chocolate oatmeal stout. To brew it we add a proportion of organic oatmeal to the mash for a velvety smooth mouthfeel. and plenty of dark roasted coca nibs to the mash, boil and fermentor. The result is a rich, intense stout with notes of dark chocolate that gradually gives way to a subtle hop finish. With malt, coffee and chocolate flavours, Craftsman pairs well with any dessert, or match it with hearty fare such as venison and beef.

Keg at Brewdog Soho, London. A black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, dark fruit on the nose. Tastes similar, roasty, malty, chocolate and some plum in there. This one reminded me a little of Titanic plum porter. Decent.

Black color, tan head with short duration. Aroma is roasty and mainly dominated by black chocolate notes. Flavor with a light bitterness at the beginning, roasted malts and a high presence of chcolate. Slightly sweet in the final maintaining roasty mouthfeel.

33cl bottle. Dark brown pour, clear, with a tall tan head. Notes of roasted malt, chocolate, roasted coffee beans, light smoke, a bit of pine and citrus hops. Medium body and carbonation. A decent sweet stout, not as sweet as I expected (which is a plus, for me).

Bottle, 8C. Almost black with a beige head that fades to a cm.3+ Aroma of chocolate, grass, an earthy note that I’m not so keen on. Not watery but lighter than expected given the oats. The chocolate is there but the beer somehow lacks richness. The pasture/ grassy note is prominent towards the fairly bitter finish. Slightly astringent there too. Better as it warmed a little.

Nice light brown slightly bubbly-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry roasted, dark malts, cocoa, nuts, roasted grain, chocolate, minerals, caramel, toast. Taste is metallic, burnt grain, metal tank, grass, minerals, dark malts, sour coffee, weeds, hay, paper, bark. Medium bitterness, watery and harsh metallic mouthfeel. Nice aroma, that’s all...

Appearance is black, with a small disappearing beige head. Loads of coffee and dark malts in the aroma. Taste is dominated by black coffee and roast malts, with hints of vanilla sweetness. Quite a carbonated mouthfeel. Good if you’re a coffee fan.
