Stout is a dark beer made using roasted barley malt, hops and yeast. Traditionally the strongest (stoutest) porters, preferred by dock workers in the 19th century England. Today associated more with dark beer rather than just strong.

Can courtesy of the most generous djoeye, shared with Ogi and Hrabren. Murky brown body, beige head. Creamy, raisin, bit roasty, woody aroma, okay, if a bit lean. Dry taste, dried fruit, roast, quite lean, lightly oxidized, lightly astringent, but might be the age. Solid!

Backlog June 2018. Dark brown body under a small tan head. Aroma has dark malt, cholate and a hint of fruit in the direction of ripe apple. Taste has smooth dark malt, mild roasted, dark chocolate, caramel, dry fruit and a bit of piney hops. Medium body and decent aftertaste. Quite nice, reminds me a bit of something between a classic stout and a brown ale with chocolate malt. Nice.
