Keg at the CBC CG - London. Pours clear ruby with a small, creamy tan head. The aroma smacks of sugary, ripening berries, a little Belgian yeast, bready malts, caramel. Heavy sweet flavour with some lightly toasted brown bread, prominent caramel, almost ko bitterness, background yeast, dates and figs, and berries. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sticky-sweet finish, with more big, ripe and sugary berry character, some chewy caramel, bready malts. Quite hearty in the sugar department. Couldn’t do more than a third, honestly. But that third - I derive some pleasure from it.

Keg at Craft WC1. It pours clear mahogany brown with a medium beige head. The aroma is earthy, wood, leather, fruit cake, toasty brown bread, cereal and toasted nut. The taste is dry, bitter, rather fruity, sticky, dried fruits, fruit cake, tangy, warming alcohol, banana cake, cherry tunes, spice with tannin on the finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. A touch sweet perhaps, but has some nice depth.
