33cl bottle from the Siren tap Yard. An attractive reddish chestnut pour with a tight beige head; soar fruity aroma with some Belgian yeast; sweet in the mouth with strawberry and cherry flavours and a biscuity base; then a woody, tannic, vinous finish leaving a gentle warmth and lingering cherries and almond. Really good.

Bottle bought online from Hoptimism, drunk at home. Light to mid-brown. Clear and very translucent, with a thin film of cream-coloured head. Massive hit of raisins and brandied figs on the nose, with some burnt candy sugar. Complex taste: initially sweet and spicy with a persistent tannic sour nearer the finish. Brandy and stone fruit in the aftertaste, along with a good amount of alcohol. Medium to heavy carbonation. Not the best balance but pretty good all in all.

Bottle split with the Wingman whilst festering at Bingoham Moor Street, 23/06/18. Lightly hazed deep mahogany brown with a well presented beige cap. Nose is sweet malts, fruit cake, brown sugar, dates, light spice, mellow booze. Taste comprises fruit cake, raisins, red grape must, tangy berries, fruit rinds, boozey twang, sweet malts. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light warming boost. Decent for the style ... not too sweet and a balanced boost.

Aroma has a lot of raisin sweetness and dry wood. Texture is silky and oily. Flavour has sweet dried fruits. It would be better if it was slightly more alcoholic as it misses some cleanness and dryness. Aftertaste really does have bourbon / vanilla sweetness.
