A rich, imperial porter brewed with barley and wheat malt smoked over Beechwood.
Stronger than our flagship Railway Porter, London Smoke packs velvet smooth notes of bonfires, tobacco and dark chocolate. There’s a bitterness, too, and subtle, musty flavours of wood smoke, oak and vanilla.
Aromas of coffee, molasses and sherry on the nose, and an umami finish which lingers. Dark, decadent, and pretty damn delicious.

Bottled. Very deep rubyish black colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is smoked wet wood, some liquorice, mild toffee and some ashy notes as well. Flavour is very similar, but also has a nice alcohol sweetness to balance all the dry smoked and ashy notes up.

Pours dark brown, almost black with a brown head. Aroma of roasty malts, hints of leather, smoke, ash and licorice. Taste is sweetish, slightly roasty and grainy with some leather, salty licorice and hints of smoked ham. Finish is salty, leathery and slightly roasty with hints of ash. A bit unbalanced.

33 cl bottle @ olio. Bottled 20.01.2015, BBE 20.01.2016
Aroma is weird with rancid, processed cheese. Also cocoa and ash. Flavour has licorice, ash, smoky tones, saltiness and peat. Unusual but good.

330ml bottle from beermerchants.com. Pours dark brown with decent tan head. Aroma is light dried fruits. Taste is a lovely, rich fruity porter with juicy ripe plums. Not getting a lot of smokiness but for what it is it’s pretty tasty.

Bottleshare at Leighton’s flat. Thanks to Rocket Rudkin. Opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Fine carbonation. Soft dark malts, pretty tangy. Mild malt cream and tangy dark chocolate, semi sweet. Tangy dark fruits and mellow smoke. Light dry finish. Tangy but pretty drinkable.

Bottle shared at the ’Beers of London’ Tasting MkII, Bespin Cloud City - Hyde Park zone, from BDog KX 11/02/15. Light black with a decent tan covering. Nose is chocolate, spice, light smoke, dark toffee fudge, maltesers. Taste comprises light smoke, rich roast, chocolate, spiec, dark toffee fudge. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent stuff, possibly have this as a porter over smoked, all pretty subtle on the rauch front - good balance. PS - Yasmen squirts Rauch!
