Diving Bell is Galway Bay’s tip of the hat to the Scottish Wee Heavy. A beer style well matched for the stormy days & nights they endure in Galway. Brewed with a base of Scotland’s finest Golden Promise malt, heaps of crystal malt & a touch of roast barley. Followed by a long, cool fermentation with Scottish ale yeast before being racked to Nicaraguan Rum Casks on Valentine’s Day, where it has rested for seven months. Silky smooth with big notes of molasses, stone fruit & a little spice. Diving Bell is a sweet, malty beast with a beautifully delicate structure.

Bottle from my Secret Santa 2015, Beersiveknown. Thanks Steve! Almost clear amber to brown colour. No head. Aroma apples and vegetables, really not too tempting. In taste it evens out the aroma faults - somewhat. There is actual salted caramel. But you always smell the sucking cooked corn right before you sip. It somewhat destroys the experience.
