Diving Bell is Galway Bay’s tip of the hat to the Scottish Wee Heavy. A beer style well matched for the stormy days & nights they endure in Galway. Brewed with a base of Scotland’s finest Golden Promise malt, heaps of crystal malt & a touch of roast barley. Followed by a long, cool fermentation with Scottish ale yeast before being racked to Nicaraguan Rum Casks on Valentine’s Day, where it has rested for seven months. Silky smooth with big notes of molasses, stone fruit & a little spice. Diving Bell is a sweet, malty beast with a beautifully delicate structure.

Bottle. Color: Very dark copper, off-white head. Aroma: Red fruit, dark fruit, vinuous. Taste: Over medium sugary sweet, boozy rum, malty, sweetish and slightly sourish red fruit and stone fruit, molasses and some caramel. Spicy notes. Slightly perfume-like. Full body, below average carbonation. Syrupy. Long lasting fruity rum finish. I needed some time to appreciate this beer and it'scomplexity but after some time I pretty liked it.
