Sampled at Borefts Bier Festival 2017. Pitch black pour with a tan head. Notes of anise seed, smoke, roasted malts. A bit too light bodied, but otherwise quite nice.

Tap. Black color with beige head. Aroma is star anise, liquorice, chocolate. Taste is full on anise and liquorice, chocolate. Oily, nearly watery mouthfeel, low carbonation. Not for me.

Interesting. Lots of aniseed for sure, and still a tasty beverage. Fun for once, not necessary for more than once.

22/IX/17 - on tap @ Borefts Bierfestival 2017 (Bodegraven) - BB: n/a (2017-1639) Thanks to ratebeerians and friends for sharing today's beers!

Clear dark brown beer, no head. Aroma: well, lots and lots of star anise to start with, sweet touch, malty, some black currant, black liquorish. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: nothing but black liquorice, and boy, I don't like black liquorice at all!! One of the worst beers of the festival, but I guess it's just me...
