On tap at The Kernel, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out plenty of earthy hops, toasted malt, and some charcoal. Flavour is much the same, with a dry, roasted malt base, plenty of very earthy hops, and a touch of charcoal. Nice base beer and the hops are well-expressed. Good.

Rated at The Kernel Taproom Arch 7. Crisp, roasty and grassy with some tropical fruits, pine, resin, grapefruit and floral hops, hints of coffee and chocolate, mild bitterness. Keg at Mother Arch ii, 18/08/23. Pitch black with a good sized lasting khaki head. Nose is rich roast, dried fruit rinds, burnt toffee, charr, cacao nibs. Taste comprises roasted bite, light ashen nip, liquorice, light spice, cocoa powder, dates, raisins. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with dusty hop back notes. Solid flavoursome porter.

Keg at Kernel, 27th July 23. Pours perfectly black, rim of white head. Aroma is chocolate, ash, roasted malts. Taste is bitter, cocoa, chocolate, roasted malts, lots of complexity, ash, light smoke. Outstanding, kernel at their finest

Bottle shared thanks to Wingman. A opaque black coloured pour with a lasting sticky light tan head. Aroma is woody, pine, sap, light smoke, liquorice, flavour is composed of semi sweet, nice rich earthy. Palate is semi sweet, oily, moderate carbonation, really nice. Super rich and layered.
