Keg at Craft Metropolis, Penge, 28/11/2025.
Pitch black topped with a tan cap that thins to the edge.
Nose is dark malts, molasses, faint spice, caramel, hint of almond.
Taste comprises toasted brown sugar, good almond vibes, charr, dried fruits, dark malts.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a light rising boost.
Okay impy if a touch 1D.

Growler from LCB. Brewery #1003. Black pour with brief tanned head. Rich and decadent aroma of dark malt, marzipan, chocolate and caramel. Its sweet with a bitter roast and quite nutty with tons of salted caramel and chocolate in the mix. Full bodied, low carbonation. Slightly too rich for my palate but certainly has bold flavours.

On tap at BrewDog Sheffield - flat cola like body, no head. Heady nose of boozy liquorice, coffee and darkest burnt cake fruits. Syrupy mouthfeel, very oily, more booziness with a decent burn, sweet marzipan finish. Cake.

Growler fill from the LCB online shop. Pours still-looking black, there was a short-lived thin beige head. Aromas of chocolate, salted caramel, almonds. Taste is more of the same. Way too sweet for me. How about just making a nice stout?
