Bottle from Strong Water. Black body with a thin beige head that slowly fades. Faint lacing. Aroma of oat and coffee. Flavour of roasted malt, coffee and a dry, bitter finish. Thin to medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Simple and easy drinking.

Bottle from the Brewery stall at Barra Xmas fest. It pours darkest brown with a small light tan head. The aroma is earthy roasted malt, coffee grounds, umami, meatiness, liquorice, cacao and a touch of marmite. The taste is drying, fairly bitter, plenty of umami, liquorice, cacao, malt loaf, hit of coffee, peppery spice and a touch of tannin with a drying, slightly charred roast finish. Lighter end of medium body and fine carbonation. Lacks a bit of body and sails a bit close to the umami/marmite wind. Fine.
