Cask at Standing Order, Derby. Pours a dark (almost very dark) reddish brown with a small tan head and good lacing. There’s roasted malts and dark fruits in the aroma plus some plumy hints. In the mouth it is slightly sweet with a creamy texture. Flavour has dark fruits, roasted malts, coffee and traces of cocoa wit some liquorice coming through later leading to a fruity finish. This is decent, but is a bit thin.

This is the one of two ales by name previously tried before the Wetherspoon Spring Beer Festival 2025, so not exactly a new rate, but a variation tick. Very nice in cask form. Easy, light roasted, hint of nuttiness in aroma.
