Brimming with coffee and chocolate flavours, hints of liquorice and dark fruits. Brewed with Pale Ale, Brown, Double Roasted Crystal and Roasted malts and hopped with Phoenix and other British hops. A rich, smooth Stout named after the characterful, black-tarred fishing huts that line Southwold's harbour

Keg @ Piccadilly Tap, Manchester. Practically black with a thin off-white head. Crisp and easy-drinking, although never gets too stated. There’s some roasted malt here, although its dryness and mild floralness are just as prevalent.

Keg at Piccadilly Tap; dark opaque brown pour with a big creamy beige head, aroma has vegetable stew plus a hint of roast malts, taste has some roast but has some weird vegetable action, basic stuff.

Keg tap at the Flying Pig, Cambridge. Dark drown, almost black, with a small off-white head. Metal, vegetal and plastic aroma, not really getting any stouty aromas. Medicinal and bitter taste, more metal and plastic. This seems to be an example of a beer that’s been killed, killed killed by kegging it. May be better in cask, perhaps I’ll re-rate at some point. But this is dreadful.

Draft. A black beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, and sulphur, leading to a dry finish. The body is light.
