Can from Appellation Wines. Pours darkest brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of chocolate, maple syrup, pecan nuts. Taste is more of the same. Sweet finish.

Can from Appellation Wines. Appearance - deep brown to black and opaque. Tan to fawn head. Nose - syrup, pancakes, hazelnut (pecan I guess). Not so much on the chocolate side. Taste - rich syrup and pancakes. And pecan and hazelnut for sure. Palate - medium to full bodied, creamy texture. Light roast on the finish. Overall - this is very good. Often, the structure of a pastry stout can be lacking compared to traditional stout at this level. This, however, is a happy departure. Lovely beer.
