Bottle from Beer Ambleside. Appearance - opaque black with low carbonation. Fine fawn bubbles. Nose - bourbon, leather and dried fruit. Raisin and prunes. Generally alluring. Taste - a wee vinous tang at the front. Then dried raisins up front, a hint of chocolate and berry fruits. Palate - rich, full bodied. Dry but rich texture. Long tapering and complete finish. Overall - where is the Brett? That said still an excellent beer.

375ml bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours olive black with a very thin ring of beige head. Tight, fine bubbles. Aromas of wood, leather, dried fruit and bourbon, something dark and malty up the back. Taste is liquorice, sharp, vinous, leathery, some wood spice and faint dark chocolate. This is something else.
