(Keg at SOPP Helsinki 2016) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts and liquorice. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, sweetness, dark chocolate, liquorice, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt and bitter. A nicely done strong stout.

Draught @ SOPP 2016. Pours pitch black with a smooth head. Aroma of roasty malts, salty licorice, coffee, cocoa, vanilla and syrup. Taste is sweetish, roasty and heavy with loads of salty licorice, coffee, dark chocolate and cocoa. Finish is salty, roasty and sweetish with loads of licorice and hints of syrup. Reminds me of Nøgnes imperial stout. Tasty.

Nice light brown creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly rich and dry, dark malts, licorice, grass, minerals, alcohol, weeds, dark sugar, bark, burnt coffee, hints of soap. Taste is slightly dry and harsh mineraly, weeds, minerals, licorice, dark malts, grass, alcohol, soap, burnt grain, sour coffee, paper, metal tank, bark, burnt caramel. Medium bitterness, slightly dry and harsh mineraly mouthfeel. Nice aroma, not so nice flavors...

Patricks 110316. Black colour with a brown head. Aromais roasted malt, coffe, licorice. Flavour is licorice, roasted malt, alcohol, pine, chocolate. Full body. Very nice beer.

Bottle, at Patrick’s. Dark, dark brown in color, with a thin, dense, beige head. Lots of licorice in the aroma, with a burnt touch, roasted, coffee-ish malts, some chocolate and a wee hint of vanilla and prunes. It’s lightly warming on the palate, full bodied and smooth, with some sweetish flavors. Roasted malts, licorice, hints of chocolate and dried figs, and a good dash of coffee. Some pleasant bitterness too, easily dealing with the sweetness. Rather sweet finish with a good dash of licorice and coffee. Sure a fine one. 160514

Bottle shared with JMD at HNB 18.04.16. Old chocolate, old strawberry jam and pine in aroma. Tasts is similar, with pine bitterness, cough medicine and bitter wild apples. Fine aftertaste.

Flaske fra helsekosten på Kvaddå, delt med Ovesen etter vellykket tapping: nesten kullsort, med fint lysebrunt skum. Myk aroma med kaffe, kakao, sjokolade og overmodne jordbær. God, fyldig og saftig, mørk smak med tørr avslutning i den fine ettersmaken.

Flaske 330ml fra Vinmonopolet Tromsdalen. Svart. Høyt mokkafarget skum som varer lenge og etterlater nydelige filigranser. Forsiktig aroma av melkesjokolade. Silkemyk munnfølelse. Smaken forsiktig - men der er både kaffe & lakris. Blir lett tørr etter hvert. Heftig bunnfall igjen i flaska.
