Cask ay Flowerpot, Derby. Pours a cloudy dark chestnut with a small off-white head and good lacing. There’s nuts and malts in the aroma. In the mouth it oscillates between sweet and bitter. There’s a good stack of traditional hops in the flavour, plus hints of cherries, ginger and spices. Finish is quite dry. This is a little unusual, but decent enough. Not a red IPA – despite what the brewery claims.

11/3/2023. Cask at the 2023 Coventry Beer Festival. Pours unclear chestnut brown with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma of malt, stewed dark fruits, molasses, slight veggie edge. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness and body. Slightly creamy, soft carbonation. Dry finish. Not bad.
