Koloniální pivo původem z Anglie má velmi zajímavou historii. Britskému vojsku chybělo v Indii pivo, protože často dorazilo po dlouhé mořeplavbě zkažené. Britové proto začali přidávat do sudů sušený chmel, který pivo zakonzervoval a také chuťově pozměnil. Dnes si můžeme dopřát celou řadu různých chutí tohoto piva díky speciálním druhům chmele z celého světa.

On tap at Žil Verne Bratislava as Hasič Zubata Žaba IPA 16. On the chalk board ABV was stated 8.3% so I don't know is this the right one or new recipe. Clear golden coloured, medium sized white head, citrusy hoppy nose. Herbal hops, citrus, touch of fruits and some alcohol with notes of oranges in the finish. Ok brew.

Tap at Komin. Medium-low diacetyl, as much vegetal hoppiness. Eh. Lacks some intensity in terms of aroma and flavour - rather bland, uninteresting. Buttery and rough if anything. Average at best.

getrunken im Brauereirestaurant im Sommer 2017 Das IPA ist ja zur Gallionsfigur der Craftbier-Bewegung geworden. Das mag nicht nur am einzigartigen Geschmack liegen, sondern auch an der Geschichte seiner Entstehung (als haltbares Bier für die britischen Kolonien in Indien). Ob diese nun wahr ist oder nicht, wird ja nicht nur in Bier-Foren diskutiert. Jedenfalls kommt es als neu und unkonventionell rüber. Einfach weil es ganz anders schmeckt als normales Helles und Dunkles. Dieses Bier ist zwar ein guter Vertreter dieser Biersorte, aber ist einfach zu normal um besonders zu sein.
