Sour mash ale aged in bourbon barrels. The Connecticut Yankees at Two Roads have CONNjured up this moonshine inspired bourbon-like ale. Using good ol’ USA corn grits and aged in real bourbon barrels from a famous Kentucky distillery, this unique CONNcoction includes notes of whiskey, oak and vanilla. 8.5% ABV

Disappointing in comparison to other beers Two Roads has produced. A harsh tasting bourbon ale with a bitter edge, not something I would try again.

Pours deep gold into a shaker. White head with little retention recedes to skim surface. Oak and vanilla aromas. Soft with sour grain and harsh whiskey front to back.

On tap at ACBF 6/1/2013 Clear light golden color. Sweet corn and bourbon flavor with a solid shot of alcohol warmth. Decent brew, a little different but I enjoyed it.
