Bottle from the brewery online shop. Pours clear dark brown with a thick beige head. Aromas of dark chocolate and liquorice. Taste has coffee, chocolate and prunes. Good body. Roasty finish.

Cask @ Furley & Co, Hull. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, chocolate, nuts, hops and has a nice roasty finish.

Cask @ Furley, Hull. Almost black with a light brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor is medium sweet and light hitter. Sweet and roasted light bitter finish. Oily. 120220

Cask-conditioned at the Golden, York 18/2/2019. Near black in colour with a thin, off-white, head. Toasty malts, plain chocolate, porridge oats and a sweetish finish. Enjoyable.

7/12/2018. Cask at The Thirty Fifth Pig’s Ear Festival, Hackney. Pours deep mahogany brown with a bubbly beige head. Aroma of sweet toffee, lactose, milk chocolate, dark fruit, oats and malt with moderate roasting. Medium plus sweetness, moderate roasted bitterness. Medium body, smooth texture, very soft carbonation. Good brew.
