Leith’s heritage as a prominent historical shipping port and gateway to Scandinavia inspired us to infuse this robust 10% impy stout with North Sea water and liquorice. A full-bodied leviathan with briny salinity bringing balance to the dark, roast malts and sweet liquorice.

Suitable for vegans.

Can from Appellation Wines. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - blackberry, light smoke and salt and going into salted liquorice. Taste - creamy chocolate, this time. Still blackberry and black jack sweets. Palate - medium bodied at least. Creamy texture. Dry, roasted finish. Overall - lovely stuff.

Opaque beer, lively brown head that quickly fizzles out. Strong smell of earthy malt with a little anise and salt. Those last two flavours come through more sharply in the flavour, with the salt up front and the liquorice blending in with the rich malt and dark chocolate that's in there too. Rich and smooth with a lovely balance even for somebody like me who's not a big fan of anise. Good stuff.
