Æthelstan is a thick and well balanced Big Stout. We used peated whisky malts to give a little touch of whisky flavor. Togheter with the very extensive malt bill, Æthelstan has a complex flavor not a lot of other beers offer. This Stout has matured for 17 months in ex-Armagnac barrels.

ABV: 12.0%. Clear dark brown colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, dark malt, bourbon, wood, barrel - vanilla, alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, bourbon, smoke, barrel - vanilla, vanilla, wood, dark fruit. Body is medium to medium full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20210305]
