Cask (gravity) @ NBF 2016 [ The 41th. Nottingham Beer Festival (The 9th Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival) ], Nottingham Castle, Friar Lane, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England NG1 6EB. [ As Drone Valley Bowshaw Black ].Clear dark brown colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, dark malt, burnt malt. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, sweet malt, dark malt, roasted, fruity malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20161013] 6-3-7-3-12

On cask at Three Tuns, Dronfield - Opaque black, thin beige head. Nose is roast coffee, dark chocolate, burnt grains. Taste has all the usual bitterness, the dusty chocolate mouthfeel, bitter ending. Decent.

Tried at the Nottingham beer Festival 2016. Deep brown almost black colour with a thin tan head. Aroma has stewed fruit and roasted malt. Light roasted bitter taste. Thin body
