Birch and Barley: pours black with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, brown sugar, and hints of chocolate. Body is surprisingly light and very smooth. Quite nice.

Caramel and roast. Black pour with decent head. Oily texture like tar sands. Chocolate. Bittersweet finish. Tap at Churchkey.

32oz crowler pours with a nice dark chocolate colored body that supports a mocha head of foam. The aroma offers up a blend of dark roasted malts, molasses, a thin nuttiness, a dash of toffee and then deep reaching chocolate maltiness. The taste delivers smooth growing dark roasted malts and chocolate malts that have just the right level of sweetness added in to create a rich textured experience. The chocolate notes are varied with some dark, milk and sort of an earthy malt ball chocolate sensation. This is smooth, clean and attains a pleasing richness that showcases this beerβs balance. Its sweetened dark roasted malts, chocolate milk shake and then thin toasted bread and a dash of toffee. Lovely.
