Pilsner and German Dark Munich malts are used to create our base Dunkel recipe and capture its signature smooth mouth feel and deep mahogany hues. Two light additions of German Hallertau hops keep the hop profile low but pleasant. We finished the beer off by fermenting it on an American Ale yeast, rather than the traditional lagering process. The resulting mash up of styles is a rich and malty homage to one of the oldest regulated beer styles to come out of Germany.

At the source: pours dirty brown with a small head. Aroma is very light bread. Taste is small. Mostly just maltiness. Slightly sweet. Unexciting. An ale version of a dunkel.
