Tap. Pours black with a medium tan head and nice lacing. Aroma is very roasty, molasses, leather, roasted malts, hints of anise. Not a chocolate Stout by any means. Flavors is light sweet, medium plus bitter, roasty and aggressive. Full body. Pretty solid. Wonder what bourbon barrels would do to this?

Deep dark brown coloured body with a fairly opaque dark brown glow and a thinnish, single centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, oats, chocolate, earth, pit fruits and quite a bit of grain. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong roasty flavours with oatmeal, anise, coffee, chocolate and grain all noticeable throughout with some pit fruits, raisins, cacao and other deep flavours. Aftertaste shows a lot of pungency with alcohol and spices the strongest, but the cacao and coffee notes along with the oat flavours show through nicely and lead to some moderate complexity. Overall, a decent Imperial Stout that goes down fairly easily and shows some vanilla and oak, and is nice, even fresh. I haven’t had many fresh Imperial Stouts over the years, but this is nice and shows some complexity while goes down quite easily, and the only reason I’m drinking this fresh is because it was from the draught. I sampled this thirty two ounce growler fill from Whole Foods in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 20-February-2017 for US$11,00 sampled at home in Washington directly in front of Whole Foods on 22-February-2017.
