From tap at Speciaalbier Café De Markies, Leeuwarden. Aroma is very woody and fruity with dark malt, oak, red wine, cognac, chocolate, coffee. Bit vinous and tartish, medium sweet, oaky, some roasty bitterness. Fairly full body. Very nice overall.

Tap at Borefts 2019: Black colored brew with an smooth dry bitter taste and with hints of chocolate and cognac, but that cognac must be more prominent.

Nincs habja, a színe vöröses árnyalatú fekete. Illata csokis, kávés, kakaós, aszalt gyümölcsös, főleg szilva és cseresznye, vanília, a tölgyfahordó bukéja, valamint a konyak édeskés aromája. Íze az illatával harmonizál, kakaóporos, kávés, fekete csokis eszenciák, aszalt szilva, cseresznye és meggy, talán egy kis füge zamata érződik és persze itt is jelen vannak a konyakos hordó vaníliás, tölgyfás, konyakos jegyei. Testes, jelzés értékű szénsavval, közepes keserűvel, amit a pörkölés és a komló fele-fele arányban adnak. isteni finom desszertsör, tökéletes egynsúllyal.

Bottle from Tidens Farver. Black with a small light brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, molasses, chocolate, light wood and cognac. Flavor is very sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter fimish with lots of warming alcohol. Oily and soft. 250120

Beer as black as ink with some disparate brown bubbles as head. Very roasted/burnt, yet with a sweetish underlying aroma, bit perfumey; roasted nuts, liquorice, ureum (not hop-linked). Bitter, utterly roasted, burnt, liquorice, zwarte jap . Harsher bitterness with a molasses-like sweetness in the background , syrup, in the finish. Full bodied, undercarbonated, oily to viscous. Long-lasting flavours. Meuhhh... F*ck you might be the word.

So, I'm not sure of the premise of the name but I will take the beer at face value for its taste. Great looking bottle, 37.5 cl, I got it in Scandanavia somewhere on a trip this summer, a European imperial stout, heck yes, let's go. The tasting will be in a snifter this go around, jet black and practically no head, I get a scent of licorice, chocolate and berry of some kind. The sensation is that of motor oil, I like it. And the taste is, well, pretty fine. Strawberry, dark chocolate, roasted pecans, toffee and rye bread. The cognac in the background, maybe? Smooth and pleasing.
