500ml bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours dark ruby brown with a short-lived thin beige head. Aromas of treacle, charcoal, tar, toffee. Taste is treacle, thin, sweet. Dry finish.

Bottle from Local in Carlisle. Appearance - close to opaque black but with some amber/red chinks. Nose - charcoal and liquorice. Toffee at the back. Taste - dry liquorice through the first half and then toffee in the second half. Palate - medium bodied with a dry lean texture that somehow opens onto a creamy sweet finish. Overall - interesting stout.
