A beautiful golden ale. Brewed with a glorious mix of American and English hops.
This beer has brewed to celebrate the arrival of a Viking long ship due to arrive in July 2014.The World’s largest-ever reconstructed Viking longship will set sail for Merseyside in its maiden overseas voyage from Norway – during next month’s Golf Open in Hoylake. Draken Harald Harfagre, named after Norway’s most famous Viking king Harald the Fairhair, will be rowed down the Mersey after a three-week passage under sail from Haugesund, on the Norwegian west coast. The 115ft-long ship, which was the vision of Norwegian businessman Sigurd Aase, its patron, will arrive at a time when the World’s media and thousands of visitors will be flocking to Wirral for the prestigious Open tournament at Royal Liverpool golf club.
The Viking vessel, which has a huge 2,800 sq ft sail made of pure silk, will be crewed by a hundred-strong “Viking Navy” of volunteers, many from Wirral, who travelled to Norway last year for a weekend of training sessions.
