Bottle at 14th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering on 03/19/2011 courtesy of Butters. Slightly hazy pale golden body with a small white head. Sweet dry malt and light floral aroma. Dry fruit and dry caramel flavor with some caramel. Medium-light body with moderate carbonation.

22 ounce bottle. I’m a homebrew fan and a kolsch fan and an Asheville beer fan, so its fun to try this one. This pours a clear golden color with a a thin white head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of grainy malts with a bit of toastiness along with the faintest herbal hoppiness. The taste is toasted malts, faint caramel, floral and fruity notes and just a touch of grass in the finish. Medium bodied. Crisp and clean, well balanced. Low carbonation. Very nice beer. Well done Brandon Dana and Highland.

Pour is a clear blond with a small white head. Aroma is a bit of dry malts and not much else. Flavor is an excellent pils malt followed by a nice grassy hop. Finish leaves a dry malt on the tounge. This is a style I’m not fond of but this is a pretty strong example of the style.
