This summer we’re offering this sweet stout as an alternative to the clean lagers and hoppy beers on our summer menu. Roasted malts, rich smoky flavor and a lasting, balanced finish.
[Old: This powerful export-style stout ushers in the big Fall beers for us here at South Street. Roasted malts, deep smoky flavor, and a lasting, balanced finish. 7%]

On nitro tap at the Capital Ale House VA Beer Festival on 07/03/2010. Clear black body with a large dense creamy tan head. Sweet roast and chocolate aroma. Chocolate and roast flavor with a dry bitter finish. Medium body with moderately low carbonation.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub. Pours a hazy dark reddish brown, nearly opaque, with a large tan head. Good head retention. Aroma is a little weak, with notes of roasted malts and soem nondescript fruity notes. Taste is roasted malts, tobacco and caramel. Creamy texture and full bodied. Nice beer.
