Inspired by cocktail expert David Wondrich, Brooklyn Brewmaster Garrett Oliver brewed this beer as an homage to New York's most famous cocktail. A robust rye beer, partially aged in Rittenhouse 100-proof Bonded Rye barrels from the Heaven Hill Distilleries, and then infused with the herbs and spices that flavor red vermouth and bitters, and just a dash of tart cherry.

(Draught) Amber and clear. Small white head. Malts and spices in aroma. Medium bodied and warming palate with medium carbonation. Malts, spices, sweetness, bitterness, saltiness and perhaps some coriander. Spices, saltiness and bitterness in aftertaste. This was really nice one.

Can’t say I liked this, not a fan of the bitters herbal character. There was some mint and licorice character in the nose but the flavor was just a solid wack of unpleasant bitterness. Brandy notes at the finish. Glowing copper color.
