Classic North Western Best Mild. We think this dark mild is a cracker! It’s based upon a secret old school dark mild of our youth, but brought up to date with extra body and mouthfeel to show off the chocolate, roast coffee and liquorice of the smooth, nutty flavour to the max… Proper Mild, done properly with a hint of modernity!

Cask at the St Albans beer festival 2024. An opaque mahogany brown coloured pour with a fading loose tan head. Aroma is earthy, roast, cakey malts. Dried fruits, prune, dusty dark malts. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, toasted malts, burnt cake, dusty, chalky finish. Trail mix. Little thin. Palate is dusty, decent cask condition, ok.

Nice and pleasant mild ale. Very session able Dark pour and a fine head. Ok lacing Ok intensity in the aroma. Balanced sweetness and a moderate bitterness. Also a fine carbonation level. Pleasant to drink Dark malt, chocolate and a bit fruity flavor [Cask at Liverpool Brewing Co Tap in Liverpool, England]

Cask at Lower Angel, Warrington. Pours a dark ruby with a small foamy cream head. Aroma has dark fruits and malts. In the mouth it is slightly sweet with a creamy texture. Flavour majors on dark fruits and malts with some traces of liquorice. Finish is slightly dry. This is quite nice.
