KIrinyaga coffee beans have been used in this IPA, sourced from an independent farm based in central Kenya. Juicy tropical flavours of ripe fruit are at the fore, with hints of apricots followed by notes of coffee leading to a light bitterness.

Can from Black Toad. Appearance - golden amber with a thin beige head. Nose - mainly coffee, the IPA fruit is muted. Taste - some citrus underneath the coffee bean dominance. Palate - close to medium bodied, roasty and mainly sweet. Overall - ok.

Cask at Hops, Crewe. Pours golden brown with a sizeable off-white head and good lacing. Thereโs milky coffee and biscuits in the aroma. Hops (a mix of traditional and floral) are the first things that come to attention in the mouth. It has a creamy texture with a good dollop of bitterness. Hints too of apricots, coffee, ginger and mango. Some spiciness in the finish. This is an unusual, interesting beer. The coffee is definitely there but is tending to hide the IPA element.
