On tap at Craft Beer Co, Covent Garden. Dark brown pour with a beige head. Plum jam, raisin & blackberry aromas. Plummy jammy taste. Lots more conserve flavours in the close.

Keg at Craft Beer Co, Covent Garden, 16/02/24. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a good sized lasting beige head. Nose is tangy plums, chocolate, mellow roast, dried fruit rinds. Taste comprises mellow roast, charr, plum duff, toffee, cocoa sprinkle, dates, dried red berries, tangy fruit esters. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close with an almost funky edge about it. Tidy porter.

Hazy and dark reddish brown, off white head. Nice plummy aroma. Flavour has plum right up front, some tart berries, malt, a bit of caramel, a bit of citrus. Maybe a dash of chocolate as well. A nice balance between the sharp and sweet fruit and the richer, more typically porter-y elements. Very nice and a fine tribute to the Titanic beer.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - deep brown to black and opaque. Thin, off-white head. Nose - rich plum, liqueur, even black cherry. Some chocolate and some cakiness. Taste - loads of plum and plum liqueur, some blackberry and black cherry creeping in. Luscious backdrop of chocolate cake. Palate - medium bodied, fruit tannins, acid and fruit. Very lightly bitter on the finish. Overall - luscious like a Black Forest Gateau. A bottle of this is about right. If I was having it on cask, I'd want a bit more roasty bitterness. Good, mind!
