This is a dark beer, but it tastes surprisingly light and fruity. Clean, restrained malt flavours come from de-husked dark malt, which lays a platform for the sort of hoppiness usually found not in a dark ale but in an American-style IPA. Aromas of tropical fruit, resinous pine, and more, emerge from a medley of highly flavoured American hops. Style - "Black IPA". If you are drinking this beer after 2019, this will be rebadged Peaky Blinder Black IPA which is now produced at our Flookburgh site.

Cask at the craft beer co 100. Clear caramel nutty brown coloured pour with a lasting loose off white cream coloured head. Aroma is nutty, mineral, weird onion, melon fruit, little bit of ashy smoke. Flavour is composed of nutty malts, gasoline, light pine, dishwater. Palate is a bit watery, decent cask condition. Little jammy fruits in the finish. Sup par black IPA.

Keg at the brewery. Reddy caramel brown coloured pour with a frothy steadfast cream coloured head. Aroma is weird plastic, hockey pick, grassy hop. Subdued aroma. Flavour is composed of burnt toast, cereal grains, piney hop, tangerine plastic. Palate is medium light, highish carbonation and semi crisp in the finish. OK hoppy Schwartz beer.

Draft at Craft 100 April 2015 - London. Pours clear, deep brown with a bubbly tan head. The nose has light roast, burnt grains, brown bread and cocoa. Light to medium sweet flavor with slight minerality, dry chalky cocoa. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Dry and earthy on the finish, with notes of burnt pine, minerals and cocoa. So so.

Cask at Craft 100. It pours clear deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is piney fresh, juicy orange citrus, orange juice, cocoa, varnish and dank action. The taste is bitter, earthy, pine, varnish, resin, coffee grounds, leather, mild acidity and a touch of spice with a very dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Too dry in my opinion. Still, fine.
