Can to nonic glass.
Appearance: dark brown close to black color with two fingers worth of eggshell white foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: roasted malts, light coffee, gentle honey, light earthy hops underneath
Flavor: mirrors the aromas fairly sweet with a gentle roast coming in for balance, mild aftertaste of honey, roastiness and a touch of milk chocolate
Texture: light to medium bodied, some sessionability about it, some smoothness but also light roasty grip on the tongue; finishes with the honey and roastiness
Overall: pretty nicely done porter I'd be willing to come back to.

On tap at Hopworks PDX, pours black with a reddish tinge and a small light brown head. Aroma reveals a nice toasted malt base, with gentle honey and crusty bread. Flavour is robust, with a solid toasted malt character, accentuated by light honey sweetness. Toasted and pleasant overall. Decent stuff.

From a can. Pour is big and black & large and in-charge. Rolling head like a nitro. Malty olfactory. A little cloying on the uptake, quite sweet. Thicker mouth coating palate. Difficult up front. In the middle it tends to settle down a little but in the end I can't help thinking how good this could be if it didn't have the honey added. In the end its just another dark beer with a sweet sticky attitude. At least it look really appetizing when I poured it into the glass.
