Bottle. Pour is big and black, like a good stout. Thin tan head recedes quickly. Nose is slight cherry, just maybe. For a fruit flavored porter, I'm pleasantly surprised on the palate. Not cloying nor overly sweet. Actually has a slight sizzling & cutting co2 effect followed up with some tart cherry in there. Seems well balanced for a fruit beer initially. Quite smooth in the middle too. Yes, quite impressed, maybe one of the better fruit porters I've done. Overall a decent dark beer experience. Finish leaves a somewhat tart cherry ending. In retrospect, I think it even has some wild beer attributes contained within.

Sample at the brewpub. Brown-black color with a medium thin khaki head that dissipates quickly to a film. Small patches of lacing. Malt, cherry and chocolate in the nose. Light to medium body with flavors of chocolate malt, cherry and mild coffee. The finish is semi-sweet chocolate-covered cherries and malt. Decent overall.
