This Kölsch-style ale is a scaled-up version of a brewpub favorite known for its light-body and crisp/refreshing flavor profile. It is fermented with a unique ale yeast that ferments out at cooler temperatures than many other ale yeasts, so it doesn’t produce as many fruity esters as many styles, but has complexities almost reminiscent of some white wines.

12 ounce can from Woodman's Appleton, 7/4/20. On this holiday like other patriotic holidays I tour the states with my ticking. So far, OH, WI, MI, NY, CA, CO, VA, and now IL. Clear gold, large foamy white head, good retention. Aroma of doughy, bready malt, citrus. Taste is pale malt , white bread, lemon. Medium bodied, simple, crisp. Nice.

Clear pale. Clean beer nose. Taste is a little bitter, like many kolsch. Somewhat refreshing. That bitterness with a slight astringent bite starts to get in there during the middle. Does not seem like its over 5% in alky content. Good co2 level throughout. Finish is average lager with a slight hop effect. Not bad.

Honey, barley malt, and straw aroma. Pale yellow with nice white head. Lightly sweet lemon, barley malt, and mildly bitter straw/grass flavor. Good body. Nice.

On tap at Essen Haus. Pours a clear yellow gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of bread and straw with grains and a hint of grass underlying. Flavor has a ton of straw and sweet grains with grass and hay backing.
