Manchester-style bitter which pours a bright golden colour. Bracingly bitter and dry, Made North has light malt aromas and flavours of earthy, floral and very moreish English hops.

Cask at Hops, Crewe Nose has maltiness with just a hint of lemon. Pours a greenish yellow with a small white head. Smoothness is the predominant feature in the mouth, with traces of apples, lemons and hops. Finish is lemony and biscuit. This is said by the brewer to be a “Manchester style bitter” – does that mean it’s supposed to be like Boddingtons ?! If so, the colour is close, but the taste is way off. There’s nothing actually wrong with this beer – but I would have expected something a great deal better from Thornbridge.

Handpull cask at the West End Brewery, Leicester for their Thornbridge Tap Takeover weekend. I was expecting a different colour than the light, almost straw beer in front of me. It's hazy with a very thin white head. Light aroma of hay, some lemon, some rich tea biscuit. Goldings bitterness to the fore of the taste, although there is a grainy/vegetal taste nearer the finish. There isn't really a lot to this. It is certainly drinkable but it doesn't have a lot of character.

Good use of Munich and Vienna malts but needs some more dry-hopping. I love Dom.
