A Luscious Welsh Milk Stout - silky smooth with an unctuous mouthfeel and a deep flavour combining black forest gateaux, dark fruits and hidden depths...Brewed with Junga and Kazbek hops.

Cask at Smithfield, Derby. As noted by Planky, this is now a Milk Stout. Pours a dark reddish-brown with a small cream head. Nose is vanilla and milky coffee. In the mouth there is plenty of variety, chocolate, raisins, milky coffee and liquorice. Fruit is starting to come through at the finish. Has a slightly watery texture but is otherwise very agreeable.

From Bestofbritishbeers.com. It seems the recipe for this beer has completely changed. It's now a milk stout with the same label, name and ABV. As COLD BLACK LABEL - MINER'S ALE a luscious milk stout 4.6%. Dark brown pour with a beige head. Chocolate caramel, creamy coffee, raisin, light cocoa in the nose. Taste is treacle toffee, chocolate, coffee, liquorice. Malty sweet finish.
