Bottle @ Cox’s Dromod (1100714) Deep golden, clear, frothy white head... nose of caramel, bit buttery....taste of caramel, soft butterscotch, very little hop, hint of sweet honey, very dull flavour..... soft carb, light to medium body, bit oily. Finish is flat and rapid.... Overall - The batches seem so variable, certainly not worth 5 euro a bottle...the very first example tried was the best

Keg @ Murtagh’s, Carrick [250514] Very sweet malts, caramel malts, bit buttery, sugars, hardly any hops, much less than the bottle that I tried, sweet sugary malts, disappointing overall....hope it’s just an off batch...to re-rate in future 5/3/4/2/9 2.3 (Score above is average of both rates)

Bottle @ Coy’s Bar, Longford [080514] 6/3/6/3/13
Amber, hazy, frothy white head, some lacing
Aroma of soft caramel, light cereal, soft sweet tropical fruits, slight toffee
Taste of sweet caramel, touch of toffee, soft tropical citrus hops, soft citrus zest, hint of biscuit
Palate - soft carb, medium body, fairly oily. Finish as main flavour, fairly sweet, soft bitter zest
Overall - Best of the three Carrig ales I’ve tried - certainly could benefit with some more hops

Deep amber with a huge head that last. Lively carbonation. Aroma is sweet caramel malt. Flavour is similar, fruity bitterness, dry nutty base.
