Bottle/Fest. A- Crackers, subtle meat, roasty, caramel, rye. A- Brown color, cloudy liquid, off white head. T- Malty, crackers, rye. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, smooth finish. O- A bit different. Rye crackers seem to be the main flavor coming through. I enjoyed it, especially for a brown ale but it was a bit odd.

4 oz pour on draft at Spacebar. Clear dark brown with beige head. Aromas of roast, caramel. Tastes of caramel, malt, light roast. Medium-light body with a dry finish.

Bottle @ NYC Craft Beer festival. Clear brown with reddish tint, small foamy beige head, faint nutmeg aroma, thin body, low carbonation, roasted malt taste, abrupt finish.

12 oz. bottle from Joe. Pours brown, with a small, tan head. The aroma is coffee, black bread, and anise. Sweet, with a sharp, burnt bitterness. Medium to heavy body, chalky, and fairly thick. This is a fair brown ale, with too much toasted malt flavors.

12 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, bottled on 9/29/2017. Pours slightly hazy deep reddish brown color with a 2 finger dense khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of caramel, toffee, chocolate, cocoa, toast, biscuit, nuttiness, floral, light roast, and toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/toasted malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big caramel, toffee, cocoa, chocolate, toast, biscuit, nuttiness, floral, light roast, and toasted earthiness. Slight roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toffee, cocoa, chocolate, nuttiness, biscuit, toast, light roast, and toasted earthiness on the finish for awhile. Great balance, complexity, and robustness of dark/toasted malt flavors; with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/silky, and slightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is awesome. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent brown ale! All around great balance, robustness, and complexity of malt flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

One of the dark ones! Clear, but very dark brown with a thin off-white head. Aroma of toasted nuts and caramel. Rich sweet and nutty. Just the slightest hop bitterness. Good Brown Ale.

12 oz bottle that was part of the Winter 2012 World Market 9 pack, courtesy of my in-laws. The pour is brown with ruby highlights, along with a well formed one inch light tan head. The aroma is a nice fresh nut and wood smoke and some soft spice yeast in the back. The taste is the nut, lightly sweet malt, and a pleasant soft roast. As it warms, the spice yeast of the nose shows as more of a dried fruit. The palate is medium bodied, soft carbonation, and the finish is and earthy dried fruit. Nice brown.
