Cask (handpump) @ The Smithfield, Meadow Road, Derby, Derbyshire, England, DE1 2BH. [ As Derby Smithy Ale ].Clear medium orange yellow color with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, hay - straw, pale malt, light to moderate hoppy, grass. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, biscuit malt, sweet malt, pale malt, fruity - citrus. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Half pint, cask, at Smithfield in Derby. White head covering a clear, dark golden coloured body. Oily hops on the nose. The taste profile is made up by caramel malts and a few citric hints. Nice bittersweet finish. Decent housebeer (22.02.2015).
