keg at CASC, ABZ, 20/06/14. Clear golden with a decent off white covering that dissipates some then retains. Nose is tangy citrics, spicey vibes, bitter orange, mandarin, tarte fruit wash, straw. Taste comprises yeast esters, candied orange peel, light spice, damp hay, tarte mandarin. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent saison.

330ml bottle. 6.0% abv. Bright golden colour, no head and aroma of ginger, spice, lemony, yeast. Taste is grain, zesty lemon, with honey, ginger, yeast and spicy, light bitterness. Medium bodied, low carbonation, dry peppery finish. Quite drinkable.

330ml bottle from Cotteridge Wines, thanks to Simon F. Pours golden yellow, nice floral aroma. Creamy, spicy saison, a little lemon, a touch of ginger and some funky yeast. Nice and refreshing in a flowery park on a sunny day.

330ml Bottle - Golden with a white head. Ginger, lemon and some hints of coriander in the aroma. Zesty, spicy and refreshing taste with ginger, lemon and honey detected. Nice, enjoyable and would go down a treat during the summer.

Bottle from unknown supplier. Poured hazy golden with a thin white head. Aroma of yeast, pineapple and juicy hops. Peppery hop flavours with some cereal and bready malt. Finish is soft fruit, straw and esters. Very good English saison.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy pale golden body with a thin white head. Average carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of lemon, ginger, grain and a hint of lavender. Flavour is very sweet for a Saison - honey and lemon flavoured Strepsils, Digestive biscuits and apricot. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft carbonation. I much prefer sharp, spicy, yeasty Saisons - unfortunately, this tastes a bit flabby and sweet. This bottle was 6.0% ABV.

Hazy gold beer, small white head. Palate is crisp and a little dry. Light semi sweet yeast and thin dry malt. A minty coolness but no mint! Mild citrus underneath. Little spice. Finishes light and crisp. Clean drinking saison but I’m finding it hard to get enthusiastic as there seems to be a glut of saisons around.

Keg at the Lyric - Soho, London. Pours clear, light yellow-gold with a creamy white head. The aroma has lots of spicy yeast and dough, some wheat. Medium sweet flavor with white sugar, esters, hints of grapefruit, lots of doughy white bread, faint hay. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish with mild herbs, more spicy yeastdominant doughy white bread, straight sugar, slight bitter staw. There is a mild dryness that kicks in at the end to slightly offset all the sugary, doughy bread character. Overall it is a pretty decent take on saison.

Keg at Lyric Soho. It pours lightly hazy pale gold with a small, fizzy white head. The nose is earthy, ginger, hay, toasty, light barnyard, pear and honey. The taste is bitter-sweet, over-ripe banana, honey, ginger, pepper, toasty grass, orange peel, candy and boiled sweets with a pretty dry, bitter finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Rather nice honey & ginger thing going on. Balance is also good. Nice work.
