Brewed with the support and guidance of Live Oak Brewing Company of Del Valle, Texas. Sometimes referred to as “Polish Champagne” this historic, nearly forgotten style of smoked wheat beer originating from Grodzisk, Poland, is a delightful peak-summer refresher worthy of year-round enjoyment. Undoubtedly, no other brewery has done more to advance the style here in the States, both in their execution, understanding and presentation, than Live Oak - we were thrilled when they agreed to work with us on this project. While a clean fermentation, pleasant bitterness and hop aromatics and technical execution in the brewhouse are key - the smoked wheat is what naturally comes to define the style for most drinkers. Thankfully, Spencer of Thrall Family Malt in Windsor, CT also joined the effort by custom smoking, to our specifications, his Connecticut-grown wheat with native oak and maple. We’re thrilled with the result. Lively carbonation, lovely smoke, incredible drinkability - it’s a Grodz we’re proud to share.

Pours pale yellow into a stein. Bright white micro head with good retention recedes leaving scant spidery sheets. Bacon and wood smoke smoke aromas. Medium bodied with maple smoked bacon and campfire from front to back. Lasting smoky pith finish. Nice one.
