Bubbly, rather loosely knit, pale beige, opening head over a jet black beer. Intense bouquet of vanilla, hot chocolate sauce, coffee cream, marmalade, toffee, cognac, hazelnut paste, raisins, wet toast, bitter black chocolate, kahlua. Sweetish onset, raisins and figs, apple peel touch somewhere, light beef broth-like umami accent, soft carb, very thick and oily, 'fat' mouthfeel. Thoroughly chocolatey, rich, toffeeish malt sweet body with toasty bittering edges but the sweetness (also from the honey I suppose) prevails; vanilla- and indeed chili-like accents in the finish yet no harsh chili heat, warming rum-like alcohol, candied citrus peel note, black bitter chocolate lingering. Every bit as rich, overwhelming and luscious as expected.
