On tap at the brewpub on 07/31/2010. Dark black body with a creamy light brown head. Sweet roast, caramel, molasses and chocolate aroma. Big chocolate and molasses flavor with a dry roast bitter note. Black body with ruby highlights and a small foamy light brown head. Sweet roast and chocolate aroma with a touch of pepper. Fresh growler from the brewery. Pours a very dark brown color with a medium tan head. Fair head retention and good lacing. Aroma is chocolate, roast, slight coffee and a leafy hop note. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate and a leafy hop finish. Thin-medium bodied.
