Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe. Pours a hazy golden brown with minimal scummy off-white head and good lacing. There’s malts and caramel in the aroma plus some hints of dried fruit. In the mouth it is quite sweet to start with a slightly creamy texture and malts to the fore. A little underlying bitterness too which does increase but never dominates. Later on marmalade and hints of nuts and berry fruits come through leading to gentle fruity finish. This is reasonable if a little nondescript.
