750 c&c from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Gushed a bit. Nice berry aroma with the gushing. Color is very dark berry. Aroma is tart berry, but tart from yeast or tart from berries? Med body. Flavor is tart berry. Sort of raspberry, but like something other berry as well. Kind of tart blackberry, sort of. This is very, very tasty but hard to ascribe to a particular berry. Sure isn’t strawberry, but ... It finishes dry, tart, extremely berry. Fantastic.

Bottle @ What the Funk, October 2014, Denver. Pours a pinkish red appearance with a pink head. Fairly vinous flavor with some blackberry and black raspberry notes. Somewhat acidic. A little vanilla, coconut, and wood along with a little funk. Pretty good.

Purplish character, really pretty, even by cascade standards, tart, very fruity, blackberries from the bush, refreshing and balanced.

A burgundy red sour ale with a very thin off white head. In aroma, light raspberry with light red wine notes, fruity. In mouth, a light raspberry juice with faint acidity, nice and smooth, if a bit light. On tap at Portland brewery, Oct. 7 2012.

Tap at Cascade, Portland - 07/11/12. Lightly hazed mid crimson with a thin pinkish head that soon clears to the edges. Nose comprises fresh soured raspeberry, wooden tones, medium tarteness. Tastes of bitter/sour raspberries, sweet sugars, tarte flavour, light vinegar. Medium bodied, light spritzy carbonation leading to a sour finish.

On tap at Cascade Brewing, pours an opaque pinkish ruby red with a small pink head. Aroma of pure raspberries, some acidic notes and pungent oak barrels. Flavour of very sour raspberries, with a low-medium sweetness, high acidity and moderate oak barrel presence. Pungently sour and oak barrel heavy. Really well-balanced and complex. Delicious.
